Tables, Desks & Worktops — Workspace Fit-out

For a series of workspaces within the historic Hat Works factory in Luton, we designed and produced a number of robust tables, desks, and worktops. The pieces were conceived to provide practical and durable work surfaces suited to flexible studio and office environments within the converted industrial building.

The design combines laminated birch plywood tops with off-the-shelf adjustable table bases, allowing for adaptability while maintaining a simple and durable material palette. The result is a set of straightforward, hard-wearing workstations that respond to the functional needs of a shared workspace.

Tables & Desks

• Work surfaces manufactured from laminated birch plywood.

Bases

• Birch plywood surfaces finished with protective oil to enhance durability and maintain the natural appearance of the material.

Construction Strategy

• Modular and straightforward construction combining custom plywood tops with standard adjustable bases, enabling efficient production, installation, and long-term adaptability for workspace use.
