JOINERY & CABINETRY
Mobile Project / Community Infrastructure
We designed and built three mobile kitchen units intended for cooking workshops within a large industrial building. The brief required fully functional kitchens that could be easily moved and repositioned, allowing the space to adapt to different group activities and events. Each unit was conceived as a self-contained, mobile workstation, combining off-the-shelf cabinetry with bespoke birch plywood elements mounted on a rolling platform with heavy-duty castors. A lightweight aluminium box-section framework using Easyfix profiles and connectors supports the superstructure, while stainless steel worktops provide durable food preparation surfaces.
The kitchens incorporate integrated cooking appliances, utensil storage racks, and their own electrical supply line with fuse box. Safety considerations were integral to the design, with each unit equipped with a fire extinguisher and fire blanket to support workshop use.
