MATCHSTICK FACTORY
2025 LONDON
JOINERY & CABINETRY
BOOKCASE
This project involved the design and fabrication of a full-height bespoke bookcase within a converted matchstick factory in London. The space features double-height ceilings, requiring a tall, slender shelving system capable of reaching the full height of the room while maintaining structural stability and visual lightness.
Although relatively narrow in footprint, the bookcase was designed as a complete vertical storage system, incorporating base cabinets for concealed storage and a bespoke mobile library ladder to access the upper shelves. The intervention responds to the scale of the industrial interior while providing a practical and elegant solution for organising a large book collection.
